What is Occupational Therapy?

The primary goal of Occupational Therapy is to enable people of all ages and abilities to participate effectively and positively in our everyday occupations.
Occupations are everyday activities that occupy our time and bring meaning and purpose to our lives.
Occupational Therapists work with people to help them:
  • Build knowledge and skills;
  • Develop new ways of doing things; and
  • Change their home or work environment where necessary.
Occupational Therapists can prescribe devices and equipment to help you accomplish the activities you need or want to do.
